Below is piece of art entitled “Everything I Have” by London-born artist Simon Evans. Working in Berlin, Evans has displayed every single object he owns with what looks to be a brief, sometimes crass, description underneath each item. With little available information available on the work or the artist, it’s hard to go in for a closer look without visiting the resting place of the piece at the James Cohen Gallery, New York.
Evan’s work forces us to ask the question “Why didn’t I think of that?”, in a world where such simple ideas are special occasions. There are countless ways in which this idea could be initiated and that includes builidng a lifelike sculpture of everything the artist owns, out of clay (note: come back to this idea later). It’s a brilliant example of an admirable conception and pointless execution.
Thanks to swiss-miss.com for showing me this.

It appears that UK pop sensation Lily Allen is at the forefront of music technology as here she stands, wireless microphone in one hand and Homemade Wireless Korg Kaossilator in the other. The Korg Kaosillator is the younger sibling of the Kaoss Pad, allowing touch-pad synthesis and real-time effects. Connoisseurs of Mus. Tech will notice the distinct lack of cables emerging from the gadget as she (ok, one of her techs) has attached a wireless transmitter to the Kaossilator via a magical shard of gaffa tape. What a genius little invention. She now has the ability to make noises whilst making noises, despite having her other hand full of microphone.
So she’s beaten me to it.
Below is my attempt. It is a bizarre concoction featuring a larger Kaoss Pad attached to a crass Japanese imported transmitter that would have allowed me to offer my audience the same thrill as Miss Allen. Unfortunately I may have now missed the boat.
